It is a lesser known fact that banana tree harvests only once in its lifecycle. So banana pseudostem is a massive agro waste post every harvest. These stems are rich in cellulose, have long fibre length and moisture repellant qualities. This made us look at Banana handmade paper not only as sheets of paper rather as a very potent raw material. Paper sheet is converted to yarn and woven with cotton yarn on a pit loom to make paper fabric. This research has also encouraged local weavers to continue the traditional craft. Paper fabric is
lightweight as well as ideal for cold weather.
